Using Technology To Communicate

I believe that we do rely too much on technology, but technology has many valueble sources that we didn't have before. We use technology all the time, especially for communication. That's because it's a lot easier and faster to call someone, or text someone, than sending them a letter in the mail. You would probably agree with me when I say "Technology is an important part of my life, I use it everyday." Well, a lot of people feel that, by using technology as much as we do, students don't have the writing skills that they would have. I agree with this because we text and call so much, that we don't have all the knowledge it takes for writing a letter. Not saying that we don't know how to write a letter, just saying that if something happened and we weren't able to text or call someone (or use any other source of technology to communicate with them) we would have no choice but to write them a letter. How would teens nowadays know how to write and send letters when they are used to texting or calling?

Advice on cyberbullying:

1. If you or someone you know is being cyber-bullied, tell an adult or supervisor.
2. If you are being cyber-bullied, the best thing you can do is not to let it bother you, because what they really want to hear, is that they got to you. Don't let them under your skin.
3. Ignore the bully, because you're awesome and they just want to feel better about themselves.
4. Don't bully them back because not only does it also make you a bully, but you would just give them something to work off of, but it could also hurt their feelings. You don't want to add fuel to the fire, or become a bully yourself. Be careful what you say, though you shouldn't say anything to them at all.
5. If someone you know is being cyber-bullied, just do what you can to make them feel better and not get upset because chances are, they are only bullying because they are jealous of something and don't have anything better to do. But, just don't get upset over it because every 60 seconds you spend upset, is another minutes of happiness you'll never get back.

The Safety Of Our Personal Information On The Internet

Recently, I read a article about online safety. Basically it said that, October is Cyber Security Awareness Month. And that, the more you are connected to the internet, the more opportunities criminals have to find vulnerabilities and personal information. People all over the world use the internet to do all kinds of things like, access their banking information, insurance of sorts, to see what's happening on Facebook and other medias, etc. But the article does contain a number of ways to reduce your risk. I believe that if we were all more careful about what we do and post on the internet, it would be safer, and easier to use. I agree with what I read in that article and think that taking precautions would help with the safety of our usernames, passwords, personal information, and pictures. I will also include the link the the article I read, below.

Should the Internet be governed/regulated?

As many people already know, the Internet has no real laws or rules that govern the Internet. I personally believe that there should be. With rules, the Internet would be a much safer place for anyone, including children of young age. There would be no hackers, or spammers. Also, I believe that we would find more accurate, and trustworthy information on the Internet. Even Adds could be stopped from popping up all over our screens.

A little bit about me.

Hello, my name is Celia. Internet has changed my life, literally. I know a lot about computers already. Like computer software, some engineering, and how to get around on one. I would like to learn about this blog site a little bit more, however. Also, would like to learn how having a blog effects my grade in school.
